Kat and Janie will no longer own or operate SELF Cycle beginning October 3. We are actively working with individuals interested in purchasing the business and continuing its operations under new ownership.

There are currently three possible outcomes:

1. A sale is completed by October 3.
SELF could transition directly into new ownership with little to no interruption in classes.

2. A buyer is identified, but the sale isn't completed by October 3.
This is currently the most likely scenario. SELF will temporarily close beginning October 3 while the transaction is finalized and the new owner is prepared to take over operations. Interested buyers have been informed that any purchase would need to close by October 15.

3. A sale is not completed.
SELF Cycle will close permanently.

We'll communicate with you as soon as we know which path we're taking.

First things first: there is no drama associated with this business closing. Janie and Kat remain best friends.

Janie and Kat have spent the last 3 years building this business and have effectively burned themselves out. They both still love and want to participate in SELF Cycle, just not run it.

Regardless of whether SELF is sold, October 3 marks the end of Kat and Janie's ownership and operation of the business.

If a transaction has not been completed by then, we will no longer act as the owners/operators of SELF. That means the studio will need to temporarily close until new ownership officially takes over.

All current recurring memberships will stop billing after September 30.

You do not need to cancel your membership.

If SELF reopens under new ownership, members will have the opportunity to choose whether to purchase a new membership with the new ownership.

You will not automatically begin being charged again.

There may be.

If a transaction is completed before October 3, we anticipate very little disruption to operations.

If a buyer is identified but the transaction is still being finalized, SELF will temporarily close beginning October 3. The length of that closure will depend on the timing of the transaction and the new owner's readiness to reopen.

Our goal is to make any transition as smooth and short as possible.

We can't promise that.

We are prioritizing potential buyers who are interested in continuing to offer rhythm cycling in Northwest Arkansas and who understand what makes this community special.

However, once the business is sold, the new owner will ultimately make decisions about SELF's future.

That could eventually include changes to pricing, memberships, schedules, programming, instructors, additional offerings, branding, or even the studio's location.

Our hope is to find someone who wants to build upon what already exists rather than start over, but we want to be transparent that those decisions will belong to the new owner.

Potentially—just not as owners.

Beginning October 3, Kat and Janie will no longer own or operate the business.

Depending on the new ownership and what makes sense for everyone involved, our future relationship with SELF could include continuing to teach and helping train future instructors.

We're open to supporting the next chapter of SELF while allowing its new owner to truly make the business their own.

Our existing instructors will ultimately decide individually whether they'd like to continue teaching under new ownership.

In the meantime, we're continuing to work with prospective instructors so that a future owner has the opportunity to inherit an even stronger instructor team.

We don't currently know.

The timing and structure of instructor tryouts will depend on whether SELF is purchased and what the new owner decides.

If SELF ultimately closes permanently, we don't want October 3 to mean the end of this community.

SELF has always been more than bikes and four walls.

Kat and Janie plan to continue creating opportunities for our community to gather, connect, and move together—even without a permanent studio.

The first is a Saturday morning walking group at 9:30 AM at Summerhill.

We'll also plan monthly gatherings and movement opportunities throughout Northwest Arkansas and share details through SELF's existing communication channels as we're able.
